FRIENDS: Friends and members of the Fine Arts League of Coleman County celebrated with Ted & Martha Shelton Saturday, Sept. 18 at Fisherman’s Lodge, Brownwood State Park. The 80th Birthday Party fishfry was hosted by the Shelton’s children. Ted & Martha are valued members of the Fine Arts League of Coleman Co., Inc.
True to their talents, the Shelton’s party theme was “Sunflowers”. Ted is a master at painting wildflowers and you can find evidence of that in a downtown Coleman store, The Antique Mall. Place favors, tables and a 3-tiered birthday cake were in the Sunflower theme. Some 300 guests were delighted when the 80 candles on the cake were lighted after dark.

A slide show of Ted & Martha’s life was given during the evening. “Ted & Martha are the most giving couple anyone could know”, a quote from the gathering.

Guests in attendance from the Fine Arts League of Coleman included Dr. Bob & Bitsy Murchison, Dollie Sparkman, Jane and Winford Fullerton, Monroe & Virginia Bethke (San Antonio), Tammy Jo and Arena Turner, Sherrell & Theda Rhea Hazlewood and “friends of the arts”, Eric & Kay Joffrion

FUN: Students from the area County Schools will participate in a FUN event Saturday, October 2 at the Coleman Library sponsored by the Fine Arts League. Sherrell Hazlewood and Coleman School Art Teacher, Danna Dawson, will present the students to the public, showing their creative skills in chalk painting on the sidewalk, a mural and other fun activities.
Come and be amazed at the Fiesta de la Paloma Juried Art Show October 1-2, 2010 with the Youth Saturday Fun event.

FIESTA: The Annual Fiesta de la Paloma Juried Art Show will be open Friday October 1 and Saturday October 2, at the Coleman Library. On exhibit will be 71 paintings from all over the U.S. The Awards will be presented to the winning artists Saturday at 4 pm. Don’t miss it!!
