2009 Letter From The President
Coleman, TX
Jan. 7, 2009
From the President
2009 Greetings to all FALCC Members,
As your 2009 president, I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the Fine Arts League of Coleman County. This is a fine organization that has contributed much to this area for the past seventeen years. I feel honored that you have selected me for this position. I will do my best to keep that tradition of community service alive in 2009. The strength of any organization is in its membership, and I have seen this organization always show that quality. I know that together we will continue the fine work of the past.
Our first regular meeting of 2009 will be 6:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, in the First National Bank Hospitality Room. I will present the program for this meeting. This January program will be part of my ”No Artist Left Behind in 2014” series. The first of my series was to ensure that all artists could “Connect the Dots and Paint by the Numbers”. The January program is called “From Inspiration to Interpretation”. Art should be fun, and I will show you my approach to this. I hope that you can attend this first meeting of the year. Encourage guests and prospective new members to attend.
The FALCC has great artist members with talent and experience who could present an excellent monthly meeting program. I will present this idea of having an artist member be responsible for a demo or program for the coming year to the FALCC board and to the membership at the January meeting. I hope that several of our members will agree to share their talent with us.
There are several Committee Chairman positions that need to be maintained this year. The members who served in this capacity did an excellent job in 2008, and I hope that you will continue as Committee Chairmen in 2009. In the event that you feel that you cannot continue to serve in your current position, please inform me as soon as possible.
We will be working on our schedule of events for 2009. Youngsters will be entering art for the Kid’s Art Show at the library this month. January 31st is the last day for entries to be accepted. Judging will be the 2nd of February, and the exhibit is from the 3rd thru 13th at the Library. The 14th is the last day for kid’s to pick-up art.
Robin Black represents the FALCC in this worthy project. I know that she will appreciate your active support in making this event a success.
Looking Forward to a Great Year,
Sherrell Hazlewood
President
