Pastel Portrait Workshop

Theda Rhea and husband FALCC President Sherrell Hazlewood recently traveled to Raymondville, TX, down in King Ranch Country where Theda conducted a three day pastel portrait workshop for twelve members of the Willacy County Art League. FALCC member Ruth Ann Taylor was the prime mover in arranging for the workshop. Ruth Ann's husband, Jerry Taylor, and long time General Manager of the El Sauz Ranch, entertained Sherrell with a tour of the historic Sauz Ranch while Theda worked with her artist students. Jerry and Sherrell enjoyed sharing their memories of their young days in Coleman during the visit. Claudia and Mike Wilson hosted Sherrell and Theda in their beautiful Port Mansfield home during the workshop. Sonya and Cruz Tijerina, owners of the Boot Shop Resturant of Ramondville, provided an outstanding lunch during the three days of the workshop.The Raymondville workshop participants did excellent work during the three days of instruction. Theda and Sherrell returned to Coleman impressed with the fine folks of South Texas.
