TREES, TREES, AND THEN TREES!
The Mini-Christmas Tree Festival is on its way - The trees submitted for judging were anything but the usual. Materials used included tree limbs, wood, gum drops, lady’s pin, century plant seed pods, chicken wire, newspaper(not DV); coat hangers, tinsel, styrofoam, gold leaves, wood, beads, sea shells, lolli Pops, barbed wire, buttons, copper wire, straw, metal, cactus, feathers, rocks and various other odd treasures.
Some 17 brave (artististic) souls conceived, created and submitted “trees” to the Annual Mini-Tree Festival sponsored by the Business People’s Association, the Coleman Chamber of Commerce and the Fine Arts League of Coleman County. Thanks to the Chamber for their help in receiving the trees.
The submissions were divided into two categories according to size. Judging was for their originality and presentation.

Winners in each category will be announced at the Christmas Parade Dec. 4. Prizes will be given for Category I only: First Place $100 Gift Cert; Second Place $75 Gift Cert; Third Places 3 @ $50 each Gift Cert.
Prizes for Category 2 will be ribbons only.
A People’s Choice Award $25 Gift Certificate will be given for the “tree” receiving the most votes. Visit each of the above businesses and then turn in your vote for People’s Choice to the Chamber Office.

The ‘tree’ winners will be announced at the Christmas Parade downtown Dec. 4.

The Mini Christmas Tree Festival is sponsored by the Fine Arts League of Coleman County, Coleman Chamber of Commerce, and Coleman Business People's Association.
Judging of the trees will be November 17th . After the judging, the tree exhibits will be placed in downtown merchants' businesses for public viewing. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE CHRISTMAS PARADE DECEMBER 4.
Rules for entry: Category One
1. Trees must be hand-crafted from any reasonable material (wood, fabric, wire, tree limbs, metal, glass, Styrofoam (covered with any material), ceramic and use your imagination!
2. Tree must be sturdy and free-standing. 10" minimum height - 15" maximum height (excluding topper).
3. No lights
4. One tree per individual, group or organization. Fine Arts League members are not eligible to enter Category One.
5. Trees will be judged on originality and presentation.
6. PRIZES:
First Place $100
Second Place $ 75
Third Place - 3 @ $50 - GIFT CERTIFICATES will be awarded from Coleman Business of winner's choice.
Rules for entry: Category Two
Crafting rules above apply to this category EXCEPT:
1. Trees can be 3" to 18" including topper
2. Anyone can enter (including Art League members)
3. Ribbons, Only (no gift certificates)
