2nd Annual Youth Art Show
February 2, 2010 through Februrary 6, 2010

The 2nd Annual Youth Art Show (YAS), sponsored by the Fine Arts League of Coleman County in conjunction with the Coleman Public Library will be held in the Library Annex, February 2, 2010, through February 6.

Entries will be accepted Friday, January 29th, or Saturday, January 30th, during regular library hours.

The YAS is open to all students and is dedicated to the artistic and educational advancement of our young people. The purpose of this event is to provide young people interested in art the opportunity to exhibit their work in competition. It is a valuable tool to encourage appreciation of the arts by the youth.

Rules of entry:

2 pieces artwork each student

Paintings in any media are accepted in size up to 18x24. All work must be the original work of the student. Works deemed inappropriate for public display (by building management where exhibit occurs) may not be exhibited. Works too large or unstable may also not be exhibited.

Liability:

The student and parents assume responsibility for all entered artwork.

Categories and rules for entries:

1. paintings - must be matted or framed and ready to hang
2. sculpture - must be stable and capable of standing on a display table; completed, legible entry form must be attached to each piece of work.

Awards:
3 Categories

1. Sculpture,  2. K-7th grade,  3. 8th grade-12th grades  with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in all three categories.  Each 1st place winner will receive a prize and a Blue Longhorn trophy.  2nd and 3rd place in each category receives a prize.

Best of Show

Best of Show will be pulled from the entire show. This student will receive the Texas Blue Bunny trophy and a prize.

The Awards Ceremony is Feb. 4th at 4 p.m. 
Everyone is invited!!! Please come!

Artwork must be picked up on Saturday, February 6th
between 12 noon and 4 p.m.
